VSPT Wine Group opened a UK subsidiary earlier this year and is looking for a full-time UK Account Manager based in the market to develop current business and open new accounts within the off-trade channel.
With more than 150 years of history, VSPT Wine Group is today among the world’s top 20 wine producers (17.5 million cases per year), the undisputed leader of the Chilean domestic market in both volume and value, and a Top 5 producer in the Argentine domestic market.
The leading South American business operates six wineries in Chile and two in Argentina: San Pedro, Tarapacá, Leyda, Santa Helena, Misiones de Rengo, and Viñamar vineyards in Chile and La Celia and Graffigna in Argentina.
The group is an established force in the wine industry with leading brands in major world markets and exports to more than 90 countries worldwide.
VSPT’s portfolio comprises more than 30 strategic brands in different price categories. The robust range, featuring iconic and premium fine wines to a broad selection of products for the retail sector, appeals to a diverse number of consumers with a variety of tastes.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement a strong sales strategy to expand off-trade business
Identify and secure new accounts
Arrange reoccurring meetings with the relevant retail buyers for Chile and Argentina (still & sparkling) to present the portfolio of hero brands
To lead on all evaluations and follow-up to include samples, formal offer and tenders, contracts etc
Provide growth and support to existing account base including tracking of current listings with retailers through store check reports
Deliver on sales and margin targets
Produce regular reports and updates on the strategic matrix: Brands, SKUs, Retailers and Prices
Provide outstanding service to customers on all levels
Work cross-functionally with key internal departments: Sales, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, Finance and the UK bottler to ensure all projects are delivered to the highest standard
Execute and evaluate new projects with UK bottler
Manage sample requests and delivery
Support PR events including tastings and events
Requirements
The successful candidate will have UK wine industry experience working at a high level and an understanding of the different business channels
Well connected with knowledge of the UK Off-Trade and existing, current relationships
The ability to influence internal and external customers and a high standards of sales and negotiation skills
Experience of working with, and developing, brands from sales perspective
Availability and flexibility to travel within the UK and to Chile and Argentina
Strong wine knowledge (WSET Level 2, 3 or 4 desirable)
Commercial awareness
UK Driving Licence
Skills

Knowledge and experience of key Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Good organisational, time management and planning skills
Speak Spanish (desirable, but not essential)
